Friendly and efficient staff who make you welcome. Relaxing atmosphere, fresh décor with interesting art photographs on the walls . All the varieties of coffee (including the Australian flat white) and a choice of teas (loose leaf) with extra hot water. A nice variety of cakes, and when my choice of cake arrived it was a BIG piece. Delicious.

It's a little treasure found down Bashful Alley, Lancaster. With a great range of fabulous tasty food, freshly made......my favorites are gorgeous salads and scrummy soups. Amazing coffee & homemade cakes too. The staff are always welcoming and helpful, nice atmosphere as it's popular......nothing is too much trouble.

The Old Bell is located along a little alley to the right off Market St just before St Simon's Lane, if you're coming from Meeting House Lane end. I couldn't mark it on the map very accurately. They do an excellent range of yummy cakes.The hot food looked good but I didn't bother with it, and had a lovely coffee which I sat outside in the sun and consumed eagerly (with cake!). The staff were efficient and pleasant. The prices were quite high, but the food and drink of good quality.
